Meet Dr. Thorsheim
Training & Professional Experience
I have been in practice since 2002 (and in Greenville, South Carolina since 2005), providing psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and coaching services. I am often moved by my patients’ courage, motivation, and resourcefulness as they work through challenges and pursue their goals for personal growth. I feel fortunate to work with people who are highly committed to healing and learning, and who strive to find and create deep meaning and fulfillment in their lives.
I completed my undergraduate degree at Carleton College, with a psychology major and a specialization in French. I then completed my doctorate (PhD) in counseling psychology and masters degree in program evaluation at the University of Texas at Austin. After my residency in clinical psychology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, I completed post-doctoral study at Southwest Mental Health Center, a San Antonio-based psychiatric hospital and community mental health center. Other past professional experience includes directing psychological consultation services at Southwest Mental Health Center, providing neuropsychological consultations at Self Regional Healthcare, in Greenwood, South Carolina and offering clinical seminars, lectures, and presentations to allied health professionals, parents, and schools. I have received specialized training in executive and life coaching through the International Coach Federation (ICF) – accredited MentorCoach program. I completed advanced coach training through the ICF-accredited Physician Coaching Institute and am a certified Physician Development Coach. In addition, I am a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP).
